The vision for the Durrell Center at Colorado State University embodies a holistic approach to dining and gathering spaces, emphasizing integration, comfort, culinary celebration, sensory experience, and sustainability.
The design focuses on breaking down barriers between dining and serving areas, creating open spaces conducive to gathering, socializing, and studying. The dining environment is more than just a place to eat; it's a hub for culinary exploration and engagement, showcasing food and celebrating culinary energy.
Multilayered lighting design ensures optimal illumination throughout the space, promoting both functionality and aesthetics. Additionally, the use of multicolored LED lighting adds visual interest and dynamism to the environment.
CSU’s commitment to sustainability is ingrained in every aspect of the design and operation of Durrell Center—it's a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable hub that enriches the campus community and fosters a sense of belonging among students.
