The 2017 renovation of Kennedy Union was a significant transformation, aspiring to enhance the overall experience for students by offering a multifaceted space for socializing, studying, relaxation, and dining. The incorporation of micro-restaurant concepts, each offering a distinct culinary experience was a new and innovated approach to student dining on the University of Dayton campus.

The design emphasizes the individual identity of each micro-restaurant while also fostering a sense of connection and openness. The open dining layout seamlessly connects the restaurants, creating a cohesive dining experience, while also blending the interior and exterior.  A variety of seating options throughout the Union accommodate different preferences and group sizes, creating energized and activated spaces, welcoming students with a vibrant and inviting aesthetic.
